Understanding Brad

In several ways, Brad’s childhood provided him with a very distorted, inflated, and unrealistic view of himself. His mother’s adoration gave him the belief that he was above reproach. Yet the disparity between Brad’s ideal self and his real self left him vulnerable to feeling shame.
